About

Hi. I’m Ella.
Originally from North Yorkshire, Scotland has been my chosen home since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 2010. I work as a storyteller and textile artist and believe stories in all forms are fundamental to being human.
After my own experiences of grief, I passionately believe that one size does not fit all. We all deserve our final service to be in accordance with how we lived life and our wishes. This may take many forms and doesn't always need to sit within the framework of a traditional funeral.
I hold a NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy From Civil Ceremonies Ltd and am not connected to any religious or spiritual organisation. I chose to train as a civil celebrant as I feel my personal beliefs should not impact on holding space as a celebrant. I will happily include religious and spiritual material when appropriate. A service is about the individual and telling their story.
Life in all its varied wonder deserves celebrating and for our stories to be told. This doesn't just have to happen at death, it can be throughout life and long after. Creating ceremonies which offer windows into an individual's unique story is a huge honour and privilege.
